At TechCrunch, writer Ron Miller details Microsoft’s keyboard obsession in light of the Surface tablet, the signature accessory of which has been its magnetic keyboard. It’s difficult to say whether that add-on has hurt or helped the Surface. The fortunes of the product have seemed to depend more upon backward compatibility. That said, the company shows no sign of letting up in terms of developing keyboards for mobile devices. In any case, as the article notes, the company is branching out, making apps such as Outlook and Sunrise on platforms where Adaptxt is supported.
